Pros

  • Natural ingredients
  • Affordable

Cons

  • The formula is not completely standardized
  • Unknown curcumin amount, so we cannot know how good the dose is

 Review at a Glance:

Nature’s Turmeric & Ginger is not a bad supplement. However, it is not a great one either. It contains all-natural ingredients and comes at a pretty affordable price. Which all is great.

However, even though curcumin is a great compound, we think this supplement could have offered much more if it didn’t rely on only one active compound. And as far are we concerned, ginger is too underdosed to make a noticeable difference.

Nature’s Turmeric and Ginger is not a complete waste of money. However, it is average at best. And given its reputation, we expected much more.

About Nature’s Turmeric & Ginger with Bioperine

Nature’s Nutrition Turmeric and Ginger with BioPerine is a health supplement that consists of three ingredients – Turmeric, Ginger Extract, and Black Pepper Extract (Bioperine).

It claims to:

  • Provide natural joint comfort, reduce soreness, and increase flexibility
  • Increase the antioxidant capacity of the body
  • Contribute to overall health and well-being.

It comes in the form of vegetarian capsules but is also available as gummies.

Nature’s Nutrition Turmeric & Ginger Ingredient Analysis

Turmeric

Turmeric is a spice and the essential ingredient of curry. It is rich in bioactive compounds called curcuminoids. Of these compounds, the most notable is curcumin.

Curcumin is a yellow pigment that has anti-inflammatory properties. It increases antioxidants in the body, reduces inflammation, and protects the body from free radicals.

For now, there are indications that curcumin may help with relieving pain and minor symptoms of osteoarthritis, reduction of LDL-cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood glucose.

However, all these claims need more thorough research. There is no doubt whether curcumin is a healthy compound. But for now, the studies show minor to moderate improvement in those conditions.

Alongside curcumin, Nature’s Turmeric & Ginger contains other curcuminoids as well. It has a total of 1650mg of turmeric, of which only 150mg are standardized to 95% of curcuminoid content.

In other words, out of a total of 1650mg turmeric content, for only 150mg we know how many bioactive compounds there are. But that info is not that useful. Why?

Because the amount of curcumin, which is the most potent compound, is not stated. And curcumin is the ingredient that offers the most health benefits. So, because we lack this information, we cannot know how good Nature’s Turmeric & Ginger actually is.

It contains all-natural ingredients and as such it offers some health benefits. However, to which degree we cannot know.

But roughly speaking, at first glance the dose doesn’t seem too bad. However, since turmeric is not standardized and the exact curcumin amount is unknown, we cannot know for sure how good it is.

The recommended daily dose of curcumin is 1500mg (divided into three doses of 500mg), so we can only hope that Nature’s Nutrition fulfilled that.

In our opinion, the fact that the manufacturer did not standardize this product is a major drawback. Especially if we consider the reputation of this product.

Ginger

Ginger is another spice and has a long history of use in traditional medicine.

In doses of 1-3g, it can reduce nausea and ease digestion. Higher daily doses of around 10-15g even seem to increase testosterone levels.

However, the dose in Nature’s Turmeric & Ginger seems too small. It contains only 300mg of ginger extract.

Bioperine (Black Pepper Extract)

Bioperine is a patented black pepper extract. Black pepper is the source of a molecule called piperine, which improves absorption in the body.

And since curcumin by itself is poorly absorbed in the body, it’s self-explanatory why Bioperine found its place in the formula.

Can Nature’s Turmeric & Ginger Help You Lose Weight?

Scientific evidence indicates that diets rich in polyphenols may have a positive influence on obesity and also reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases (Pastor-Villaescusa et al., 2018).

However, curcuminoids don’t promote weight loss in a way you could expect from fat burners. They don’t trigger thermogenesis, burn stomach fat, or suppress appetite. So in that regard, we cannot compare this product to weight loss supplements or fat burners.

But they promote healthy weight loss in a different way. Curcuminoids work anti-inflammatory and reduce the incidence of obesity-related diseases. So if you have a problem with excess weight, they may help, but differently.

This means that alongside lifestyle changes, proper diet, and exercise, they can help you repair the health damage that being overweight caused to your system. This especially goes for cardiovascular health, for which curcuminoids have shown to be greatly beneficial.

So, Turmeric and Ginger may not directly trigger fat burn and help you shed some pounds as you would hope so. But alongside effective fat burners and proper lifestyle changes, they can be of great help to get you back on track and improve your health. And at the end of the day, help you lose weight in a healthy way.

Side Effects

High doses of curcumin can cause nausea and gastrointestinal issues. However, to most people, Nature’s Turmeric & Ginger shouldn’t cause any problems. Especially because it contains ginger, which soothes digestion.

On the other hand, long-term use of curcumin with piperine may be problematic because piperine may increase intestinal permeability.

Testimonials & Reviews

User reviews are not always the most reliable source of information since they can easily be forged. So we always advise caution and to take them with a grain of salt. But from all of the seen, the customer reviews of Nature’s Turmeric & Ginger look impressive.

Nature’s Turmeric & Ginger is the best-selling Ginger Herbal Supplements on Amazon. This is kind of unusual since Ginger isn’t its main ingredient, but rather Turmeric.

However, the customers have made the verdict. They rated Nature’s Turmeric & Ginger supplement 4.6 out of 5, with almost 35,000 global ratings.

How to Use Nature’s Turmeric & Ginger

The recommended daily dose of Nature’s Turmeric and Ginger is three (3) capsules per day. You should take the first capsule in the morning, the second in the afternoon, and the third one in the evening.

For better curcumin absorption, take them with food.

Pricing, Availability, and Other Things to Consider

On the official Nature’s Nutrition website, Turmeric & Ginger with Bioperine price ranges from $14.88 to $31.82.

The price depends on the bottle size and Nutrition’s Turmeric and Ginger comes as 60, 90, 120, or 240 count bottles.

Other than just the official website, you can buy this product also on Amazon, eBay, Walmart, and others.

This product is also available in the form of gummies, but their formula seems noticeably underdosed. So we recommend capsules instead.

Also, don’t mistake Nature’s Turmeric & Ginger with Bioperine with Nature’s Turmeric Glucosamine & MSM. These are completely different products with different formulations.

Takeaway

Ginger and Turmeric are great and healthy compounds to accompany your weight loss program. Although they don’t have the same fat-burning effect as standard fat burners, they may promote healthy weight loss.

As far as Nature’s Turmeric & Ginger goes, we have a mixed opinion about it.

It is not necessarily bad, but the fact that it is not standardized is unforgivable for a supplement with this kind of reputation. Unfortunately, this puts into question how effective it truly is because we cannot know for sure.
