Here’s our recently updated Olly Goodbye Stress review – including the Olly Goodbye Stress gummies and softgels. Our team is going to see how Goodbye Stress compares to other stress reduction supplements in terms of benefits and ingredient quality, and ultimately, if it is worth the money or not.
Olly Goodbye Stress Review at a Glance
Olly Goodbye Stress is an all-natural supplement that comes in the form of sweetened gummies, but it is also available in the “capsule extra strength” version.
In our opinion, Olly Goodbye Stress is a decent anxiety and stress relieving supplement. However, it didn’t blow us away with its effects. It only contains 3 active ingredients: L-Theanine, GABA, and Lemon Balm (along with Ashwagandha in the capsule version).
Such a tiny formula is relatively weak compared to other options on the market. Olly Stress Gummies are missing core ingredients to help with stress – including Phosphatidylserine, Chamomile, and L-Tyrosine.
Even the ingredients that Olly Goodbye Stress Gummies do have, they aren’t dosed properly. Case in point: L-Theanine, which is underdosed. The GABA in Olly Goodbye Stress doesn’t work when taken orally, either. If you’re going with the softgel version of the supplement, you may experience more significant benefits due to Ashwagandha. Just keep in mind that this version uses the controversial filler, Titanium Dioxide.
Although it’s relatively affordable at $19.99 for 30 servings, Olly Goodbye Stress is definitely not one of the best stress reduction supplements on offer today.
What do we recommend?
About Olly Goodbye Stress Gummies
Olly Goodbye Stress is one of the more popular natural anti-anxiety supplements on sale today. As we’ve said earlier, it comes in the gummy and softgel version. What can you expect from this stress supplement exactly?
According to the manufacturer, Goodbye Stress (both gummies and softgels) are formulated to help you:
- Stay alert
- Keep Calm
- Alleviate mental and physical tension
Natural anti-anxiety supplements are growing in popularity each year. However, with this rise, it’s become hard to tell the good from the bad.

How to use Olly Goodbye Stress Gummies
The dosage directions for Olly Goodbye Stress is to take 2 gummies as needed. You can safely take up to 6 Olly Stress gummies (3 servings) a day.
Note that it’s not a good idea to mix Olly Goodbye Stress with alcohol. The ingredients in Olly Stress Gummies act on your GABA receptors; alcohol does the same. In combination, this could lead to side effects such as dizziness, impaired cognition, and weakened reasoning and inhibitions.
Olly Stress Gummies are claimed to start working within 30-60 minutes of ingestion. The truth is, it’s the L-Theanine in Olly Goodbye Stress that should work almost immediately. However, the rest of its ingredients don’t do anything (explained below).
Olly Goodbye Stress Ingredients
Olly Goodbye Stress Ingredients include:
- GABA (100mg)
- Lemon Balm Extract (75mg)
- L-Theanine (50mg)
There’s also an “ultra strength” version of Olly Goodbye Stress softgels, which contains the following ingredients:
As you can see, Olly Goodbye Stress softgels contain one additional ingredient – Ashwagandha – compared to the gummies version. This makes it somewhat more effective at reducing stress and anxiety, thanks to Ashwagandha’s effects on cortisol (more on this below). However, the softgel version of Olly Goodbye Stress also contains titanium dioxide, which studies show is a potentially carcinogenic compound when taken long-term. This is why we still prefer the Olly Goodbye Stress gummies version which is all-natural – despite being weaker with only 3 ingredients.
The good news is that neither version of Olly Goodbye Stress has any caffeine, so you don’t have to worry about insomnia or jitters. Olly Goodbye Stress doesn’t have any melatonin either, so it isn’t as potent as some other products at promoting sleep. However, we’d say this is a good thing because if taking it during the day, it won’t make you too drowsy!
Because the ingredients are light and gentle, Olly Goodbye Stress will take a couple of days to work. L-Theanine and Lemon Balm may need to be taken consistently for their effects to gradually build up, depending on the individual.
Now, what does each ingredient in Olly Goodbye Stress do? What effects exactly can you expect from them? Let’s take a closer look:
Ashwagandha is an herb with a long history of use in Ayurvedic medicine. It has been used for centuries as a general tonic, to revitalize and strengthen the body, and to boost the immune system; but it is now often taken for insomnia, anxiety, and depression.
Ashwagandha is an adaptogen herb. Adaptogens are substances that help the body adapt to stress by normalizing your reactions to it without causing either overstimulation or under-stimulation. Ashwagandha does this by increasing the production of natural steroids in your adrenal glands that balance out cortisol levels in your body.
The optimal Ashwagandha dosage for stress is between 250-600mg per day. Olly Goodbye Stress only contains 125mg per serving!
You’ll find GABA in just about every cheap anti-stress or sleep supplement out there. GABA is the primary inhibitory neurotransmitter in our central nervous system. Simply put, GABA reduces CNS activity, making you feel drowsier, less energetic, and more relaxed.
The issue is that taking GABA orally doesn’t increase GABA levels in your CNS. Most GABA supplements get wasted because it is poorly absorbed and, due to its large molecular structure, it can’t pass your blood-brain barrier. So the 100mg of GABA you get from Olly Goodbye Stress is essentially a waste of resources!
Better ingredients could be used in its stead here; such as Phosphatidylserine, chamomile or L-Tyrosine. Some of these can encourage your brain to make more of its own GABA, while others enhance mood and reduce excess mental ‘chatter’.
L-Theanine is the only ingredient in Olly Goodbye Stress gummies and softgels that has strong evidence backing its benefits for stress and anxiety. Theanine is found in abundance in green tea and some types of mushrooms.
Numerous studies show that L-Theanine helps to decrease mental symptoms of stress and tension. Theanine is especially effective when used together with caffeine, as it reduces caffeine’s side effects while enhancing its benefits. However, there’s only 50mg of Theanine in Olly Goodbye Stress gummies, whereas the recommended dosage is 150-300mg per day.
Lemon Balm is a popular plant for calming and soothing the mind. People often add it to teas and herbal mixtures to reduce anxiety, alleviate physical and mental tension, and promote deep, regenerative sleep. But what do the studies say?
Currently, there’s not much scientific evidence to back the claims behind Lemon Balm. Some studies report improvements in cognitive function and a reduction in stress levels in people with an anxiety disorder when taking Lemon Balm Extract. However, the effects reported are small, and the number of studies that support these findings is small. At only 75mg per serving, it’s not a bad ingredient choice but there are better options available on the natural market right now.
Our Commentary on Olly Goodbye Stress Ingredients
We’re not too impressed with the Olly Goodbye Stress formula. We don’t think this supplement can live up to this promises. Whether you’re looking to get a better night’s sleep or alleviate stress or soothe anxiety to boost focus and mental performance, Olly Goodbye Stress gummies aren’t the best option available currently.
The main problem with the Olly Goodbye Stress gummies’ ingredient profile is that most of the ingredients are either underdosed, or don’t work. The main ingredient in this supplement is GABA. While GABA is indeed helpful for reducing stress and promoting feelings of calmness, it doesn’t work when supplemented, because it doesn’t raise GABA brain levels. The evidence backing up GABA is weak in any case; most reported benefits are thought to be from placebo.
The only effective & proven ingredient in Olly Goodbye Stress gummies is theanine. If you’re taking the softgel version, then you also get Ashwagandha, which is another great ingredient for stress. However, both Ashwagandha and Theanine are underdosed; limiting their effects.
There are natural anti-stress supplements which do really work for lowering symptoms of anxiety. Olly Goodbye Stress gummies don’t quite keep up with them, having fewer ingredients and in lower-than-optimal doses.
Before buying a stress reduction supplement like Olly Goodbye Stress, it’s always smart to check what other customers are saying about its pros and cons.
Here’s a closer look at some of the Olly Goodbye Stress reviews taken from various places on the internet, including Amazon, Reddit, Walgreens, and Target:
“I bought this in hopes of it helping me to relax/de-stress. Within 30 minutes I started feeling sleepy and within an hour I was ready for bed. I can’t say for sure I felt less stressed but for sure it made me tired. I would not buy again.” – JVA2020 (Amazon Customer)
“Worked alright, but made my skin change to a strange “net-like pattern” of purple. Maybe it darkened my blood so as to make surface capillaries change colors but my skin looked weird. At first I thought maybe it was something else I consumed, but after some isolation experiments, it turned out to be this. At least I was an alert lizard lady.” – Nancy Chung (Amazon Customer)
“Okay, but didn’t notice a huge difference. I think for the price, I’ll just go with stress relief teas since I know those are effective. Flavor is decent.” – Conforti Family (Amazon Customer)
Note that there’s only so much you can learn from customer reviews. They tend to be biased, written by the manufacturer, or unduly negative or criticizing. Relying on the research and professional, impartial supplement reviews is always the way to go.
Does Olly Goodbye Stress Have Side Effects?
Are Olly Goodbye Stress Gummies safe? Yes, Olly Goodbye Stress is a safe supplement for almost everybody to take on a daily basis. The ingredients in this stack have been checked in clinical trials and none of them have been found to lead to negative side effects. One obvious side effect of Olly Goodbye Stress is that it may make you tired, since it contains Lemon Balm and L-Theanine which have sedative-like effects. O
With that being said, if you’re taking the Olly Goodbye Stress softgel version, watch out for Titanium Dioxide, which is a filler ingredient that is linked to an increased risk of certain health issues.
Stop taking Olly Goodbye Stress if you get any side effects. Never mix Olly Stress Gummies and alcohol as this combination can aggravate the drowsiness, loss of inhibitions, and the reduction in cognitive functions. Needless to say, if you have any sort of condition, don’t take this supplement before talking to your MD first!

Where to Buy, and Value for Money?
Olly Goodbye Stress is available at Amazon, CVS, Walgreens, Walmart. It also ships worldwide including to the UK, Mexico, Canada, and Australia.
The question now is, are Olly Stress Gummies good value for money?
Well, let’s start with the cost. A 21-day supply of Olly Goodbye Stress Gummies will cost you $13.99. The 30-serving pouch costs $19.99. The same price goes for Olly Goodbye Stress softgels. For a natural anti-stress supplement, this is cheap.
But while it doesn’t cost a lot, Olly Goodbye Stress Gummies don’t have a lot going either. With just L-Theanine as the only proven and effective ingredient. And Ashwagandha if you’re going with the softgel version. L-theanine is found in higher amounts in green tea than what’s in the Olly’s supplement; Ashwagandha is also underdosed at only 125mg per day compared to the optimal 250-600mg.
So the question now boils down to, is Olly Goodbye Stress worth $13.99 for 50mg of L-theanine? Or $19.99 for 50mg of Theanine and 150mg of Ashwagandha in the case you’re going with softgels?
We’ll let you be the judge!
Olly Goodbye Stress vs Miss Mellow: Which is Better?
Olly Goodbye Stress vs Miss Mellow: which supplement is better? The answer depends on what you’re looking for. While Olly Goodbye Stress can be used by anyone looking to improve mood and reduce tension, Miss Mellow is designed specifically for women.
Olly Goodbye Stress contains ingredients like Ashwagandha and L-Theanine which help support a calm and relaxed mind, whereas Olly Miss Mellow uses Chastebery and Soy Isoflavones to support a normal menstrual cycle. Both products can help improve mood and reduce irritability, and both have similar price tags. In terms of value for money, we do rate Miss Mellow as the superior option to Goodbye Stress, simply because it uses more researched ingredients, and in better doses. Still, neither one contains the very best ingredients on the market today. Although Miss Mellow is the better option for women, it still lacks some core ingredients, making it less effective than the current market-leading stress reduction & vitality supplements.
The Bottom Line
So, does Olly Goodbye Stress really work? In our experience, regardless of whether you’re looking at Olly Goodbye Stress Gummies or Softgels, they don’t work as marketed. After doing a detailed inspection of its ingredients, we don’t see Olly Goodbye Stress as a serious contender for the title of the best natural anti-stress and anti-anxiety supplement on offer right now. You may experience a mild reduction in tension and anxiety from L-Theanine, but that’s as good as it gets.
Theanine is underdosed, you get less of it than in green tea. The effects of Olly Goodbye Stress don’t last very long either; with such a low L-theanine dose, the effects will maybe last you 2 or 3 hours before they wear off. As a result, for the price, it’s better to buy a cheap L-theanine or Ashwagandha supplement. The effects o
There are also many proven, core ingredients missing from Olly Goodbye Stress. From Phosphatidylserine, L-Tyrosine, Chamomile Extract, to B vitamins. If you’re looking for more effective options for anxiety and stress, it’s best to do more research.
