This is more common in joint health formulas, although it can create more intestinal mucus. (3)
- Magnesium Beta-Hydroxybutyrate
While this helps with fatigue, it’s not the best gut health ingredient.
- Grape Seed Extract
Grape seed extract is a good source of vitamin E, an cardiovascular-friendly antioxidant.
- Licorice Roots Powder
Licorice increases cortisol levels, which can intensify the feelings of everyday stress. Avoid this one unless you specifically know you suffer from low cortisol.
- Wormwood Powder
Wormwood is used for a variety of digestive issues, including poor appetite and upset stomach.
- Cinnamon Bark Powder

- Maitake Mushroom Extract
Maitake is an adaptogenic mushroom native to Asia and some parts of North America. Adaptogenics means it helps your body better tackle physical and emotional difficulties. It’s also good for immunity. No direct benefits for gut health, though! (4)

This is a blend of different berry fruits which can have a positive impact on your body’s ability to fight inflammation.

A strong anti bacterial and anti-fungal, this can be very powerful addition to your gut health stack as it can fight different types of fungi – including Candida.
- Black Pepper Seeds Power
Although black pepper has some benefits for digestion, the main reason its included here is to make other ingredients in Total Restore more bioavailable – aka, easier for your body to utilize.
- Marshmallow Roots Powder
